Welcome to a land of slow journeys, crossed by two notable long-distance trails: the Cammino di San Vili, dedicated to Saint Vigilius, Bishop of Trento, which follows the ancient Roman road travelled by the saint to bring the Christian faith to the region; and the Sentiero Frassati del Trentino, the longest trail in Italy, dedicated to Pier Giorgio Frassati, the saint of young people who found freedom of the spirit and the voice of God in the mountains.
These multi-stage routes are a great way to discover hidden Trentino, secluded places of unspoiled nature and timeless rural villages, where time moves more slowly and the landscape shapes the walk and those who walk it.
The two trails meet in Deggia, in front of the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Caravaggio. Here pilgrims and wayfarers stop to give thanks, to find themselves again, just as the people of San Lorenzo Dorsino have always done in this land where nature and spirituality come together, and every traveller can rediscover their inner pace.
