For the locals, Deggia is an intimate place, in balance between nature and spirituality. Peace and silence reign here.

In the nineteenth century, the small community of farmers and shepherds, who survived the cholera epidemic, made a vow to build a capital in honour of San Rocco. The faithful arrived en masse and for this reason it was decided to build a chapel dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Caravaggio.

Today it is a destination for pilgrimages: the Camino di San Vili and the Sentiero Frassati pass through here.

The information booklet guides you during your visit to the churches of the Banale. Go to the tourist office and ask for a copy.
