I’m a Greeter in San Lorenzo in Banale

I have always lived in San Lorenzo in Banale. I was born in a small house beneath Colle Beo. My father Pietro, a fruit and vegetable trader, and my mother Sergia, a homemaker, taught me the value of work, commitment and attention towards others.
My childhood is tied to Colle Beo, where my grandfather Bonfiglio, a shoemaker, used to take me to see the Moon Stone, whose veins seem to tell distant stories. It is the place closest to my heart: from up there, your gaze drifts over San Lorenzo and the Bondai valley, and time seems to return to the games and voices of childhood.
Today, as a Greeter, I happily accompany visitors along the path that climbs to Colle Beo, through silent woods and the scent of cyclamen. It is the most beautiful way to share emotions, roots and the authentic beauty of our village.
I owe my parents my love for the community and the seriousness in doing things: values I try to pass on to my children Rudy and Federica, and to my grandchildren. With my wife Lorenza, married for almost fifty years, we have always believed in volunteering and in working for the common good, taking care of the people and the village we love.
In 1999 I helped bring the local marching band back to life, after forty years of silence. Music returned to echo through the hamlets and continues to do so, even if today my soprano flugelhorn is resting.
For ten years I had the honour of being Mayor, during the years when San Lorenzo in Banale joined The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. A milestone I carry in my heart, the result of commitment, collaboration and love for our land.
Today I live my role as a Greeter with the same passion and responsibility: for me, San Lorenzo in Banale is home and memory, a place to experience, to tell, and to pass on.

How can I help you

Born under Colle Beo, my wife Lorenza and I have always believed in volunteering. I had the honour of being mayor and contributing to San Lorenzo in Banale's inclusion among Italy's Most Beautiful Villages. Today, as a Greeter, I will guide you through the history, traditions and memories of the community.
